Job Description

Teaching in LIAONING PROVINCE, CHINA
Looking for an opportunity to add an international dimension to your career? Experience first-hand the fascinating development of China while teaching your mother tongue there!
Liaoning Province, located in the North of China, is accepting applications from native speakers of English for several of its universities and high schools. We particularly need teachers for conversation class: grammar and vocabulary is not the main problem, but students lack direct contact with native speakers.
Locations are in the vibrant modern cities in Liaoning Province. Preference as for level and location will be taken into account.
The selection procedure is organised by International Department of Liaoning Union of Degree and Graduate Education, which depends of the Provincial Government, where all the job vacancies are centralised and evaluated. The chosen institute will directly employ the selected candidates.
Start dates:
- September to October, 2005
- University level, high school, elementary school or language school
- Teaching duties: 14-20 hours/week
Requirements:
-Native English speaker
-Bachelor degree (CELTA/TESOL certificate can be accepted as well)
-Adventurous, open-minded and communicative
Benefits for the qualified candidates:
- Competitive salary in China: 4,000 RMB / month (500 USD) tax free. This salary allows for a comfortable living style, and traveling in China during holidays.
- Contracts for 1 year (renewable)
- Free private and furnished accommodation
- Residence permit and work permit
- International return flight ticket
- Airport pick-up by someone from the school
- Holidays according to the Chinese vacation system, possibly a holiday bonus
- Choice among several cities.
How to apply:
We need the following documents to start up the procedure:
- application form (via writing to teachinchina@ludge.org)
- CV by E-mail + a scanned copy of your passport + scanned copy of your degrees + 2 reference letters to Miss Windy, teachinchina@ludge.org (fax 0086 24 6223 1958)
Procedure:
- With a file containing all your documents, an employer evaluates your application. This is standard procedure in China, given the fact that employers can't interview you personally. The employer also needs this in order to officially apply in advance for your work permit.
- You will then receive information about the employer that has accepted your application: detailed info about the school, accommodation + contract.
- If you agree to the conditions, you return the signed contract by fax or scanned e-mail. The real contract will be signed upon arrival.
- You will receive an official invitation letter, that will enable you to apply for a visa allowing to work in China.
- You arrange your air ticket and inform us of your travel schedule. Somebody from the school will pick you up upon arrival.
- In China you receive a work permit and a residence permit.
Share your language skills while experiencing China from the inside in a way no traveler can!
